About
Like my grandfather, aunt, and cousin who were all journalists, I worked for weekly and daily newspapers – and coached some of the best high school student newspapers in the country. I'm also handy with a camera and publication design, and skilled in the nuances of writing, editing, proofreading, and giving advice to writers. I picked up degrees in journalism as well as teaching along the way. I've asked a lot of questions in my life – sometimes getting me into trouble, but that didn't stop me from gathering information, stories, and pictures and sharing them with others. When I was 19 a great-aunt passed along our family history, researched and written by my great-grandfather John Edgar McElrath. It includes narratives about each line of the family. My goal is to bring family history to light and keep it interesting, going back to our earliest immigrants, and provide the tools people need to be successful.
