Wong Wing Cheong is an artist, art teacher and writer in Hong Kong. He has been engaged in art
creation and other art-related activities for more than 40 years. His artworks span over Chinese
landscape ink painting, oil painting, watercolors, and sketching.
Wong is one of the most energetic and persevering painters in Hong Kong. With a great passion
in art, he dedicates himself to the pursuit of authentic artistic expression. It is his belief that the
value in art itself is the core value in artistic creation.
Nature has always been an important inspiration for Wong. In the last several decades, he went
deep into famous mountains and rivers, grasslands and pastoral areas in pursuit of his “tao-
yuens” (i.e. the utopia in ancient Chinese literature), where he practiced aestheticism,
experienced life and sketched to record life.
